Silver Beaver & Silver Fawn Recipients
The Silver Beaver and Silver Fawn awards are council-level distinguished service awards of the Boy Scouts of America. Upon nomination by the local Scout council and with the approval of the National Court of Honor, recipients of these awards are adult leaders who have made an impact on the lives of youth through service given to the council. Silver Beaver and Silver Fawn recipients are those who implement the Scouting program and perform community service through hard work, self-sacrifice, dedication, and many years of service. The awards are given to those who do not seek them.
While all of the recipients listed here have connections to Tay House, the award recognizes their commitments to all levels of local Scouting in the Rochester area.
Silver Beaver
The Silver Beaver was introduced during the 1930's and was originally only awarded to men. It became available to both men and women scouters starting in 1974. The award consists of a silver beaver pendant suspended from a blue and white ribbon worn around the neck. Recipients may also wear a blue and white square knot over the left pocket of their uniform.
